Carrefour opens new outlet in Dubai

Dubai, November 16, 2011

Carrefour, one of the UAE's most dynamic, fast-moving hypermarket chain, has opened its new supermarket at Burj Views in Downtown Dubai.

The outlet is one of the four new Carrefour Market stores set to open by the end of this year, said a statement from Carrefour MAF, a JV between  Majid al Futtaim and Carrefour France.

During the Eid Al Adha holidays, residents living in Downtown Dubai were able to shop a little closer to home with the opening of the new supermarket, it stated.

Two large stores had opened in Sharjah Al Goaz area and in Umm Al Quwain during the summer and now the fourth supermarket is on track to open at Dubai’s JLT Red Diamond Centre before the end of 2011.

In June, Carrefour MAF began a rebranding programme with 16 Carrefour Express stores across the UAE becoming ‘Carrefour Market’ supermarkets, highlighting the range of quality, and freshness, said the statement.

With a focus on fresh, high-quality produce, low prices, convenience, a wider choice and improved customer service, the new Carrefour Market brand has received a positive reception from local shoppers in their four months since rebranding, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
