Computer hardware and electronics company Asus has introduced a new line-up of Windows 8 products targeting home and office users, while setting a new standard in performance, ease-of-use and innovative design.

The new range includes Asus notebooks, tablets, all-in-one PCs, and a unique dual-screen device which together enables new forms of functionality, a statement from the company said.

“With Windows 8, Asus has taken mobile device families one step closer toward amalgamation. The distinction between keyboard-based devices and touch-based devices is heading towards extinction,” said Leon Yu, Asus’ regional director.

“Windows 8 is the bridge that has allowed Asus to blur former device categorisations and spawn a new generation of products that bring touch, the next phase in human-computer interactivity, to a wide range of traditionally keyboard-based enterprise, creativity and entertainment applications.”

ASUS TAICHI

A fusion of notebook and tablet, Asus Taichi is an ultra-slim, ultra-stylish notebook that features a unique dual-screen design with 1080p IPS displays.

In standard mode, it is a convertible and powerful Ultrabook designed for the most demanding productivity tasks, the statement said. In tablet mode, it is a lightweight powerhouse featuring intuitive multi-touch capabilities optimised for Windows 8.

In dual screen mode, both screens can be used simultaneously or independently for unparalleled user flexibility.

ASUS Transformer Book

It is the world’s first detachable notebook to combine the best features of a notebook and tablet, it said. It is a powerful and fully featured notebook with high-capacity storage and connectivity options.

Smart battery technology ensures maximum battery life in both modes allowing mobile freedom for work or play. Asus Transformer Book is the perfect solution for anyone who needs the computing power of a notebook with the versatility of a tablet.

ASUS ZENBOOK Series

Asus is moving its Zenbook to the Windows 8 platform and expanding the line with the Ultraportable series ranging in sizes from 11.6” to 15.6” powered by Intel’s i3, i5 and i7 series processors, the statement said.

The Zenbook Series of sleek and stylish Ultrabooks features a wide range of specifications and screen sizes to suit nearly every mobile need. It features a razor-thin profile, brilliant high-definition displays, powerful quad-core processors and lightning-quick solid-state storage options.

Zenbook Touch offers all the benefits of the Zenbook series including multi-touch capabilities for an enhanced Windows 8 user experience.

ASUS VivoBook Series

Asus VivoBook S200 and S400 ultra-portables offer a stylish combination portability, durability and affordability for mainstream users.
