Weekly market to open at BIC

A weekly market selling everything from agricultural products to trinkets will open at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) from this weekend.

Al Basta Market will take place every Friday and Saturday until March 29, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

It consists of 50 stalls and exhibitors can display their products based on rotation basis. A total of 400 traders are taking part.

The market will open from 3pm to 8pm on Fridays and 10am to 8pm on Saturdays, but will also open this Thursday from 4pm to 8pm to mark the official launch.

It is taking place under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and covers an area of 9,000 sq m.

There will also be a children's section, prayer rooms and an open air theatre.
