Google-style Axiom regional HQ at DSO

Dubai Silicon Oasis, an integrated free zone technology park, will host Axiom Telecom's new Dh200 million ($54.4 million) hi-tech headquarters.
The campus-style facility will seek to recreate the ambience of leading technology companies such as Google and Facebook, said a statement.
Axiom’s decision to relocate to DSO comes as part of its strategic expansion plans and complements its outstanding performance last year, with more than Dh8 billion in sales, 21 new stores and more than 300 new staff.
The company aims to hire 300 additional staff this year, it said.
Sheikh Abmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of DSO Authority, reiterated DSO’s commitment to attracting specialized technology businesses looking to set up their headquarters and benefit from the solid value proposition, facilities and infrastructure offered by the integrated free zone technology park.
The new Axiom facility will be located over an area of 420,000 sq ft and is being designed by acclaimed Italian architects Marco Mangili Associati. It will feature extensive green spaces, walkways and natural light.
Inspired by the concept of a ‘town within a town,’ the new headquarter will be fitted out with recreational facilities, multi-function rooms, a fitness suite, restaurants and a games room. It is scheduled for completion by 2016.

The modern industrial steel building concept has been designed to support Axiom’s community outreach initiatives through providing spaces for technologists to brainstorm, artists to create, and students and young entrepreneurs to showcase initiatives, said the statement.
It will also aim to achieve silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (Leed) rating. Eco-friendly materials and sustainable finishes, as well as a multitude of energy conservation measures will be integrated into the construction process, it added.
The DSO, a wholly-owned entity of the Dubai government, operates as a free zone technology park for the semiconductor, microelectronic and other high technology-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and research and development facilities in the Mena region. - TradeArabia News Service
