Bahrain Air, which is scheduled to start its operations soon, has selected the first two groups of cabin attendants constituting of 24 candidates.

The candidates have been selected through an intensive examination, which included a personality test, efficiency in customer service and English language, Captain Ahmed Yaqubi - director of operations and maintenance, Bahrain Air, said.

The groups included 24 candidates from different nationalities. With this, the total number of selected candidates for the position of cabin attendants has risen to 44 from 12 different nationalities.

The two groups will leave for Jordan to join an intensive course that takes 10 days covering first aid, emergency and safety procedures and fire-fighting.

The training shall be conducted at the Jordanian Training Academy, which has been approved by the Civil Aviation Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The company aims to strengthen the Bahraini labour market by recruiting Bahrainis to work for in-flight services and encourages Bahraini females to apply for cabin attendant positions through its website, it said.

The induction of the cabin attendants was celebrated at a reception, which was attended by Captain Ibrahim Abdulla Al Hamer, managing director of the company, Husain Al Jawder, manager cabin crew & In-flight Services among others.--TradeArabia News Service
