Royal Aviation commemorates Shaikh Saad

Kuwaity City, January 14, 2009

The name of the Royal Aviation Terminal Building has been changed to Shaikh Saad General Aviation Terminal as a tribute to the late emir Shaikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah.

This was announced by Royal Aviation chairman Mubarak Al Mascati following a meeting of the board of directors.

The Shaikh Saad terminal is the first of its kind in Kuwait, and one of the country’s landmark projects.  It is fully equipped to handle all types of private aircraft, and is equipped with all the facilities needed to provide their clients with the highest possible level of service, said an official spokesman.

“Shaikh Saad was a very dear and important figure to all Kuwaitis and we believe that we have a clear responsibility to live up to his name and deliver the best possible standard in aviation through the terminal.  It is a matter of pride for us both as Kuwaitis and business people,” said Al Mascati.

For the first time in its history, the airport will also have scheduled flights operating out of the Shaikh Saad Terminal. Wataniya Airways, Kuwait’s newest luxury premium airline will commence operations on the 24th of January and exclusively use the Shaikh Saad Terminal.

The Shaikh Saad General Aviation Terminal is located on the eastern side of the Kuwait International Airport in the Subhan Area near KAFCO and is clearly indicated from the road.

Services provided for travelers include commercial outlets such as restaurants, retail shops, offices, lounges, reception rooms, a resting area for VIP guests, meeting rooms and prayer halls. The airport is also equipped with all necessary governmental services including passport control, customs and security.

The Shaikh Saad General Aviation Terminal also includes various other guest services including ticketing, luggage, hospitality, and a shaded parking area and is properly equipped to receive people with disabilities and the elderly. – TradeArabia News Service
