Kempinski Ajman appoints new training manager

Ajman, January 27, 2010

Kempinski Hotel Ajman has appointed Farzeen Patel, a Canadian national with five years experience in the hospitality industry across three continents, as its new training manager.

“Farzeen has been an integral part of the Kempinski Group, having worked with Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates over the past two years in different capacities,” said Ulrich T Eckhardt, managing director, Kempinski Hotel Ajman.

Patel holds a diploma in hotel management and a bachelor’s degree in hospitality operations management from George Brown College in Toronto-Canada, as well as a post graduate diploma in international hospitality operations management from the Swiss School of Hotel & Tourism Management in Switzerland.

She is also a certified Kempinski Train the Task Trainer and an Essential Collaboration master trainer, and is qualified in group trainer techniques and intermediate food hygiene.

Prior to moving to Dubai, Patel worked at the Taj Krishna Hotel, Hyderabad-India, Alfresco Italian Restaurant in Canada, and at Arven Hotel Waldeck in Switzerland.

Since joining Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates in 2008, Patel moved quickly up the ranks, starting off in the position of Front Desk Attendant before being appointed Training Executive in charge of managing the training needs of over 550 staff members.

“Moving to the Ajman property presents a whole new set of challenges and opportunities within the familiar framework of the Kempinski culture and I am very excited about plans for the year ahead, working as part of the team handling one of the leading Kempinski resort properties in the Middle East,” Patel said.

Patel has a penchant for travelling, heritage tourism, arts and culture among others. She also speaks five different languages - English, Urdu, Hindi and basic German and Arabic. – TradeArabia News Service
