AirAsia ramps up flights to Australia

Kuala Lumpur, April 12, 2010

AirAsia is increasing its flights to Australia, launching twice daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur-Perth effective July 1.

Currently, AirAsia is servicing the routes with one daily direct flight and with these new additions; AirAsia will service the routes with 14 weekly flights to these destinations.

In addition to that, AirAsia is also increasing its frequency from Bali–Perth effective June 1 from two to three direct daily flights.

To celebrate these additional frequencies, AirAsia is offering all-in fares for the routes. This offer is available exclusively online at www.airasia.com for the booking period from April 13 to 18. The travel period for Kuala Lumpur-Melbourne is from August 1 to February 12 next year, while for Kuala Lumpur–Perth, it is from July 1 to October 30 this year.

“Loads have been consistently strong year-round on all Australian services and this has given us the confidence to increase our capacity particularly on Melbourne and Perth routes and as we grow our network and expand aggressively in India,” said Azran Osman-Rani, CEO of AirAsia.
