Marrakech tops BA’s list of top destinations

Cairo, December 21, 2010

Marrakech, Morocco has topped British Airways’ list of top ten destinations for 2011.

The rest of the list includes (in descending order): San Diego, USA; New York, USA; St. Kitts & Nevis, Caribbean; Puerto Rico, USA; The Maldives; Tokyo, Japan; Las Vegas, USA; Mauritius; and St. Lucia, Caribbean.

“Tourism and leisure travel is a crucial focus for us, so growing our holiday’s business is a major part of our business plan,” said Willie Walsh, British Airways’ CEO.

“We’ve already made great progress thanks to the launch of our dynamic packaging capability on ba.com, which enables customers to book flights and hotels together and realise substantial savings. Revenue this year is up 55 per cent and there remains a huge opportunity for future growth,” he added.

Marrakech is a jewel in Morocco, famously known as the ‘Red City’. It also provides quick access to both the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara desert, offering one of the most unique landscapes in the region.

To make traveling to these top destinations even more appealing, British Airways recently launched a special offer for its valued Executive Club members gifting 80,000 BA miles for travelers on all eligible flights booked in Club World and First from Egypt.

This offer is valid for booking between December and January 31, 2011 for outbound travel. For inbound travel the offer is valid for booking from December 1 to June 30, 2011 to any BA destination, according to a statement.

“We are dedicated to offer new rewards to our valued customers” said Mervat Alfy, country commercial manager for British Airways in Egypt.

“British Airways is excited to extend our offer to non-members as well, by joining and registering to our executive club to qualify for this valuable offer,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
