Dubai, February 7, 2011

Mall of the Emirates, a leading shopping and leisure destination in Dubai, is treating visitors to specially trained traditional dance troupes during the ongoing Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).

The 16th edition of DSF, which kicked off on January 20, will run for 32 days until February 20.

Dance ensembles from Africa, South America and Asia, clad in traditional dress and accompanied by authentic music and instruments are showcasing traditions in dance with visitors to the mall, a statement said.

Unique tribal beats from Africa to the distinctive sounds of the Orient will be featured in the Galleria stage from February 1 to 8 whilst other roving performances will go on throughout various locations around the mall until February 20.

“Each year we try to create a calendar of bespoke events that reflects the international status of Dubai, and the Dubai Shopping Festival,” said Mall of the Emirates VP Fuad Mansoor Sharaf.

“This year is no exception with a vast array of authentic dance troupes sharing their unique cultures through the art of dance,” he added.

Topiary Girls, gliding in their pot like dresses and sky high headdresses, and Venetian China Dolls in their fine silk dresses, china masks and luminous LED dress displays, as well DSF branded cars, large helium balloons and percussion groups as are among the attractions, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
