Saudi approval for SA Mena Avionics

Manama, February 12, 2012

Bahrain-based Mena Aerospace Enterprises has announced that its subsidiary SA Mena Avionics has obtained its certificate of approval from the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Saudi Arabia.

SA Mena Avionics has already secured equivalent approvals from Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs and the European Aviation Safety Agency and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Such regulatory approvals are issued based on successfully passing audits and inspections carried out by the various regulators' inspectors.

Inspections and audits focused on training, personnel, equipment, tools, quality and overall standards to which the organisation is operated.

SA Mena Avionics is an aircraft repair station operating at the Bahrain International Airport. It specialises in selling, installing, maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting electrical devices and electronic instruments and systems on board aircraft.

It supports local and international airlines, maintenance and repair organisations and private aircraft operators throughout the Middle East and is active in providing instruction and on-the-job training for Bahrainis seeking aeronautical training.

SA Mena Avionics is part of Bahrain's Mena Aerospace group of companies.

The company has its workshop and offices at the Bahrain International Airport, where its purpose-built facility has both airside and landside access. The company is a joint venture between Mena Aerospace Enterprises and Scandinavian Avionics based in Billund, Denmark.

"These recent approvals are the direct result of a lot of hard work by the entire team," group chief executive Ralph Eisenschmid said. "They certainly deserve commendation for establishing an internationally recognised aeronautical organisation with very unique capabilities. This bolsters our strategy to continue our expansion into Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries." – TradeArabia News Service
