United launches daily flights to Doha

Chicago, May 1, 2012

United Airlines has launched daily service between its Washington hub, Dulles International Airport, and Doha, via Dubai, starting today.

The extension of the existing Dubai service to Doha is the first of three new, previously announced United services from Washington Dulles, a statement from the airline company said.

The airline will introduce non-stop service between Dulles and Manchester tomorrow, and between Dulles and Dublin, Ireland, on June 7.

"We are delighted to add Doha to United's global route network," said James Mueller, United's vice president Atlantic & Pacific Sales. "Our customers in both the US and Qatar will benefit from increased travel opportunities and options with this new service."

United operates the Washington/Dulles-Dubai-Doha service with a Boeing 777 aircraft, which has a total of 269 seats - eight in United GlobalFirst, 40 in United BusinessFirst and 221 in United Economy, including 108 Economy Plus seats with added legroom.

Doha is the fourth city in the Gulf region United serves. With non-stop or one-stop service also to Dubai, Kuwait City and Bahrain from Washington/Dulles, the airline serves more destinations in the Gulf region and Middle East than any other US carrier.

United Global First offers customers a higher level of privacy and comfort, priority airport services and personal attention, the statement said. Global First amenities include flat-bed seats, featuring an audio/video on demand entertainment system, laptop power, USB ports, noise-reduction headsets, additional storage compartments and a multi-course meal with complimentary wines.

United BusinessFirst offers superior business-class service and amenities, including BusinessFirst seats that recline 180 degrees on most aircraft, and features an audio/video on demand entertainment system, laptop power, USB ports and a multi-course meal with complimentary wines.

United Economy offers complimentary food, soft drinks, juices, tea and coffee, as well as in-flight entertainment. Each seat features an adjustable headrest and personal seat-back monitor delivering a multi-channel audio/video on demand in-flight entertainment system.

United Economy Plus offers extra legroom. Located near the front of the Economy cabin, the seats give the added benefit of a swifter exit from the plane upon arrival. – TradeArabia News Service
