Grand Hyatt Dubai names marketing director

Grand Hyatt Dubai, a luxury five-star hotel, has appointed Roddy Gordon as its new director of Sales and Marketing and area director of Sales and Marketing for Hyatt Hotels in Dubai.

Gordon is a strategic sales and marketing professional with more than 24 years of experience in the hospitality industry with a strong focus on the luxury hotel and services sector.

Gordon is in fact, no stranger to Grand Hyatt Dubai as he started his career in the UAE as the pre-opening director of Marketing when this iconic hotel was opened.

Gordon has also amassed experience within the Hyatt group across a number of diverse geographical markets such as Chicago, Hong Kong, London, Seoul and Auckland.

Scottish by birth, he was born in the city of Aberdeen attending Hazlehead Academy and later Robert Gordon’s University where he graduated in 1988 with a BA in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Administration.

“I am delighted to come home to Grand Hyatt and work with my Hyatt colleagues throughout the world. In particular I look forward to the exciting challenges ahead in a market as dynamic as Dubai,” Gordon said.

In his new appointment, Gordon will be responsible for increasing the hotel’s performance in all segments of the business mix, and ensuring that consistent brand messages and common goals are being met across all marketing initiatives.

In his Area role, Gordon will help with the collective marketing planning and sales development of the Dubai portfolio (including Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Park Hyatt and Hyatt Place). – TradeArabia News Service
