Cathay Pacific Airways has announced plans to launch daily flights from Bahrain to its hub in Hong Kong starting from March 30.

The adjustments to the airline's Middle East network mean Bahrain will be served with a daily flight via Dubai, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication. The two daily flights between Hong Kong and Dubai will remain unchanged.

"Bahrain will now enjoy a daily service to Hong Kong," Bahrain and Saudi Arabia country manager Thomas Bellamy said.

"This service enhancement between Bahrain and Hong Kong demonstrates Cathay Pacific's long-term commitment to Bahrain and the local community," he added.

From May 2 to July 20, a temporary re-routing of the CX745 Hong Kong-Dubai-Bahrain service will be required due to a partial runway closure at Dubai International Airport for maintenance.

During this period, the flight will be changed to a Hong Kong-Abu Dhabi-Bahrain route. Alternative arrangements are also being made for passengers who have booked on this flight during this period. There is no change for the return Bahrain-Dubai-Hong Kong CX746 flight.

Cathay Pacific remains committed to serving the Middle East and will continue to identify opportunities to strengthen its services to and from the region, Bellamy said.
