Oman Air records best on-time performance

Muscat, February 10, 2014

Oman Air, the Sultanate's national carrier, said it has recorded its best-ever times for on-time performance in 2013.

Oman Air’s 30-strong fleet, across all 43 destinations within its network, achieved an average of 90 per cent on-time performance from March to December 2013, with the whole-year average coming in at a fraction under 90 per cent.

"Over the last two years, Oman Air has put great effort into improving our service standards and these latest figures show that we are achieving our ambitious targets," remarked Captain Ali Sulaiman, the chief office flight operations and chairman of Oman Air’s On-Time Performance Committee.

"On-time performance is a key measure of an airline’s ability to deliver a high quality service and meet customers’ expectations, and our achievement of nearly 90 per cent throughout 2013 puts Oman Air at the highest levels within the air travel industry," he stated.

According to him, Oman Air was listed as the second best airline for on-time departures at London Heathrow in December 2013.

"Oman Air’s impressive on-time performance figures were achieved against a background of an increase in passenger figures of 16 per cent, to around five million; a 30 per cent increase in loads and an increase in seat factors to 76 per cent," noted Captain Sulaiman.

“I would like to thank our staff within the Flight Operations department, and at the many airports across our network, for their hard work and commitment, and our customers for their invaluable feedback,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
