Jazeera Airways 2014 traffic up on key routes

Jazeera Airways has posted an increase in flown passengers on routes serving Amman, Jeddah, Riyadh, Alexandria and Mashhad in its January 2014 Operational Performance Report released today (March 31).

It also reported an on-time performance of 94.83 per cent as tracked by independent US-based OTP tracker, FlightStats.

Jazeera Airways issues its Operational Performance Report on a monthly and annual basis. The report is based on official figures and statistics from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The airline continued to lead with a 39 per cent market share on the Kuwait-Amman route for the fifth month in-a-row against three other carriers serving the route.

Flown passengers on the route increased by 15 per cent from January 2013.

On routes serving Saudi cities of Jeddah and Riyadh, Jazeera Airways saw a 43 per cent increase in flown passengers on the Kuwait-Riyadh route, and a 16 per cent increase in flown passengers on the Kuwait-Jeddah route. The airline grabbed a 12 per cent market share on the Kuwait-Riyadh route, and an 18 per cent market share on the Kuwait-Jeddah route.

In addition to the 24 per cent increase in flown passengers that Jazeera Airways saw on the Kuwait-Mashhad route in January 2013, flown passengers increased again in January 2014 by 18 per cent. The airline grabbed a 20 per cent market share on the route, against five other airlines serving the route.

Jazeera Airways served five cities in Egypt during the month of January 2014. The airline led on routes serving Alexandria with 22 per cent market share and Luxor with a 70 per cent market share. Flown passengers on the Kuwait-Alexandria route increased by 22 per cent.

The airline also grabbed a 24 per cent market share on the Kuwait-Cairo route, a 48 per cent market share on the Kuwait-Assiut route, and a 41 per cent market share on the Kuwait-Sohag route.

The January 2014 report also shows that Jazeera Airways grabbed a 39 per cent on the Kuwait-Beirut route, a 13 per cent market share on the Kuwait-Dubai route, and a 13 per cent market share on the Kuwait-Bahrain route. – TradeArabia News Service
