Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, has announced an increase in flights between Bahrain and Cairo from 10 to 12 per week to meet high passenger demand.

This follows successful negotiations to increase air traffic rights between the civil aviation authorities of the two countries, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Gulf Air's new schedule to Cairo, effective from July 23, will see an additional frequency on Wednesdays and Sundays departing Bahrain at 17:15 local time.

"Gulf Air has held long-standing ties with the Arab Republic of Egypt since we became one of the first Gulf carriers to land in Cairo in 1972," Gulf Air's acting chief commercial officer Ahmed Janahi said.

"We are always looking to satisfy the high demand on this route and cater to passenger needs.

"Now with the summer and Eid holidays fast approaching, our passengers can benefit from the additional connection and schedule flexibility to spend the holidays with their families and loved ones," he added.
