Dubai, March 20, 2010

Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), UAE’s leading Sharia-compliant financial institution, has won four awards at the recent annual Islamic Finance News Awards, including the best Islamic bank in the UAE, which it won for the fifth consecutive year.

At the awards event at Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai, DIB also received awards for syndicated deal of the year, Wakalah deal of the year and best Sharia advisory firm for its commitment to offering financial solutions that adhere to Sharia principles.

“As the world’s first Islamic bank, DIB is committed to providing a range of innovative Islamic banking services in the UAE and beyond,” said Abdulla Al Hamli, chief executive officer, DIB.

“As the UAE and the wider region continue to recover from the impact of the global financial crisis, we are confident that DIB will play a key role in Sharia-compliant transactions and will continue to strengthen its own leadership position,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
