Saudi National Insurance Company (SNIC) has signed an agreement with Jordan-based Eskadenia Software to introduce a new fully-automated insurance system.

'As part of our strategic business development plan for 2011, SNIC has signed an agreement with the word-class software vendor, Eskadenia, to implement a robust IT solution for insurance products,' said SNIC general manager Khalid Alshaikh.

'Eskadenia Software is a Jordan-based company specialising in the fields of insurance, telecommunications, education, and Internet applications.

'The general insurance system, which we are implementing, has great features of creating quotations, issuing policies, endorsements, claims, processing of reinsurance and renewal transactions rapidly and accurately as well as a comprehensive management information system.

'The system is dynamic and fully-integrated to better help SNIC manage the full lifecycle of all our general insurance functions and services,' he said.

'We believe that by implementing advanced IT systems, we can provide our customers with a better service that improves every interaction with our company.'

SNIC has also appointed a new head of IT, Ahmed Radhi, who brings with him a wealth of experience gained particularly in the insurance sector.

Before joining SNIC, Radhi headed the IT department for Solidarity General Takaful and has also worked for Arab Banking Corporation and Gulf Air.

Radhi holds a bachelor's degree in computer science, as well as an MBA, both obtained from Bahrain University.

'SNIC developed a strategy for improving the IT systems that will increase productivity and efficiency,' said Rahdi.

'Our core competency is customer service and by having a robust IT system, we can better serve our valued customers with high levels of convenience and confidence,' he noted.

'A significant part of our strategy is to implement online solutions that allow customers to obtain quotations, issue new policies, renew policies, make claims and extract their personal details online, securely through the Internet,' Radhi added.-TradeArabia News Service
