Productivity, performance ‘key to economy boost’

MANA, June 24, 2015

High productivity and dedicated performance are key to boosting Bahrain’s national economy, according to the Premier.

Receiving a group of businessmen, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said that the time is not for laxity or laziness, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

He urged all efforts to be mustered to revitalise the national economy and reap the dividends of trade openness.

Present at the majlis were Press personalities, artists and citizens, who greeted him on the advent of Ramadan.

He highlighted strenuous government-led efforts to diversify the economy and strengthen the role of the private sector, being a key pillar of the development march.

The government, he said, is all ears – hearing the opinions of businessmen and traders, represented by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, whose role is crucial in the national economy.

He hailed the vital role of the Press, urging full co-operation between the trade sector and the fourth estate, which would have a positive impact on the economic march.

He affirmed the government’s drive to encourage investments, boost commerce and strengthen economic competitiveness, benefiting from Bahrain’s solid trade relations with Russia, China and East Asian countries.

The Premier stressed the pivotal role of the GCC in the highly volatile Middle East region.

He reiterated support to all efforts to establish the GCC Union, saying that such a confederation would be the most successful in the world, owing to the deep-rooted common denominators bonding Gulf countries.

He hailed the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain’s best neighbour, paying tribute to other GCC countries who give Manama support and strategic depth.

The Premier warned against the current unprecedented upheavals which are now threatening regional security and stability.

He urged Arab leaders to adopt a unified vision and firm stance to defend their countries from looming dangers, protect their resources and counter attempts to dictate a de facto reality that subverts security and stability.

The Premier commended Bahraini artists for their creativity and hailed their participation in GCC and Arab events, stressing the importance for artworks to mirror the reality of Bahrain society objectively, beyond any exaggeration or distortion. - TradeArabia News Service
