The new office of WorleyParsons Bahrain was inaugurated today (June 4) under the patronage of Dr Hassan Fakhro, the Minister of Commerce and Industry.

The office, located on the 12th floor of the Gulf Hotel Executive Offices, will accommodate more than 200 personnel, enabling WorleyParsons to increase its service offerings across various phases of a project asset lifecycle.

WorleyParsons is a leading global provider of professional services across the four global business verticals of hydrocarbons, minerals and metals, infrastructure and power.

The company, which was ranked No. 1 in ENR’s Top 200 engineering design firms in 2011, currently has over 37,800 people working out of 148 offices located in 44 countries, said a statement.

The new office is in line with WorleyParsons’ commitment to offer professional engineering services across the range of its business lines, and will leverage the expertise from its global centres of excellence and its strong local presence to deliver high-quality engineering and project management solutions to clients in Bahrain.

WorleyParsons operates in the five phases of an asset’s lifecycle with its tailored business lines -- Select, Deliver and Improve  -- responding to the needs of its customers in each project phase. Select brings real world experience into the front-end value adding phases to maximise investment return and underlying confidence. Deliver converts the highest potential value option identified by the Select division into a fully defined and successfully executed project. Improve supports and enhances customers’ assets throughout the operating lifecycle, the statement said.

The Bahrain office, with a strong commitment to Bahrainisation, already has 181 employees and is well set to build up additional capabilities through becoming the Centre of Excellence for Improve in chemicals and instrumentation sectors.

WorleyParsons Bahrain is currently offering general engineering and consulting services to Tatweer, Banagas and Alba and is positioning itself to participate in some of the major upcoming projects in the kingdom in the infrastructure, power, petrochemicals and power sectors, it said.

The inauguration was attended by dignitaries from the local industry and senior WorleyParsons members from the Middle East, North Africa and India region.

Speaking after the inauguration, Dr Fakhro highlighted the opportunities that Bahrain has to offer in various sectors.

In his welcome address, Andres Cortes, the general manager for Bahrain, said the company continues to live on its commitment to the kingdom and looks forward to successfully grow on its presence in the market.
