TKI wins Bahrain restaurant contract

Manama, May 19, 2014

Thomas Klein International (TKI), a leading restaurant consultant in the region, has been commissioned to design the new interiors image for Zayt Zaytoon, a restaurant chain based in Bahrain.

The chain currently has three restaurants located in Manama, and TKI have been appointed to create a new look and feel for all the new restaurants which are due to open later this year.

The three existing restaurants will later be converted to comply with the new design guidelines, said a senior official.

“We spent enormous amounts of time analysing the Zayt Zaytoon brand to create a fresh new image that reflects the brand values -freshness of products, quality, transparency in the production methods and most importantly, tradition,” remarked Daniel During, the principal and managing director of TKI.

“Certain elements of the previous design have been included to keep a subliminal link in the current clients’ minds, however, the new design focuses more on the roots of the brands than in its existing format,” he stated.

“The existing design employs cartoons of the cultivation of the olive trees and the production of the olive oil, but with the new look we decided to go back into the roots directly and avoid the cartoonish approach that has been already widely utilized by other brands,” remarked During.

The new design juxtaposes modern imagery with tradition. The main walls boast a vastly enlarged photographic image of an olive tree as a full wall covering.

Original granite stone disks that were used for the pressing of the olives have been imported, and are featured on the wall between the olive trees print becoming the masterpiece of the space. Olive wood veneer is then used as table tops to complete the circle.

The colour scheme is olive oil and the material palette is composed of raw materials such as concrete floors, olive trees slabs and granite stone. A masterpiece installation of hand blown-glass in tones of green hovers above the central tables and serves as a light feature.

Owned by SunCity Ventures, Zayt Zaytoon has been serving traditional Lebanese specialities for over 10 years, and the restaurant chain has made a name for itself by the quality of the products on offer. The Zayt Zaytoon concept relies on total freshness, traditional recipes and exquisite taste in a pleasure-filled environment.

Zayt Zaytoon currently operates three full-service restaurants in prominent locations such as Bahrain Exhibition Road, Budaiya Highway, and near the BDF.  It also provides catering services for reputable clients in Bahrain.-TradeArabia News Service
