Schneider Electric wins Saudi power grid deal

Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, has inked a three-year agreement with National Grid Saudi Arabia for development of the electricity infrastructure in the kingdom, said a report.

National Grid SA is the entity solely responsible for the transmission of reliable and cost-effective electricity in the country.

As per the deal, Schneider Electric and the Saudi firm will collaborate as partners for decision-making on standards and specifications engineering and design and maintenance and operation, reported the Arab News.  

Additionally, Schneider Electric will provide training to Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and National Grid SA on mutually agreed focus areas particularly environmental issues and regulations impacting the industry.

The deal will facilitate exchange of knowledge, experience best practices and technology through periodic technical forums hosted interchangeably at their premises, the report added.
