Dubai not to increase registration fee

Dubai, July 13, 2014

Dubai does not plan to increase property registration fees further, a senior official has been quoted as saying.

Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, director general of the Dubai Land Department, said in an interview with 'Al Khaleej' newspaper that the emirate's real estate market is stable and appears healthy.

He was responding to a recent report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) about the need for additional measures to protect the real estate market, including increased registration fees.

Registration fees were raised from 2 per cent to 4 per cent and were effective in October last year.
