Sidra works awarded to Midmac joint venture

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has awarded the works to complete construction of Sidra Medical and Research Center, to a joint venture between Midmac and Consolidated Contractors Group (Offshore), said a report.
The two companies will beging the work at the site, which is in Education City, immediately, said the Peninsula report.
QF has recently terminated the contract for design and construction of the Sidra facilities, which was awarded in 2008 to the OHL International/Contrack (Cyprus) joint venture, it said.
The Sidra facilities, when completed, will set new standards in patient care for women and children in Qatar, added the report.
