Bahrain's Al Bilad Real Estate Investment Company and Al Namal Contracting Company have signed a contract for the construction of the first phase of a multi-million-dinar restaurants and villas project in Seef District.

The restaurants and villas will be located in the Water Garden City project.

The project includes 16 upscale restaurants, each consisting of three floors covering about 100 sq m.

It will also have villas overlooking the marina. Each villa will have two floors covering an area of 100 sq m to 300 sq m and common facilities.

Engineer Ziad Abdul Latif Janahi, director-general of Al Bilad, and Dr Varghese Kurian, chairman of Al Namal, signed the construction contract.

Janahi said: "The beginning of the new phase of the project will enhance confidence in Bahrain's real estate sector."

He also expressed his confidence in Al Namal Contracting Company and its performance.

Dr Kurian expressed his happiness over signing the contract. He emphasised the company's ability to accomplish what was entrusted to it under the contract on time.

"We are looking forward to further cooperation on future projects with Al Bilad," he said.
