Parsons wins Bahrain interchange revamp scheme

MANAMA, November 8, 2015

Parsons, a leader in engineering, construction, technical and management services, said it was recently awarded a traffic consultancy services contract for the improvement of the Bahrain Gas Interchange.

One of the major traffic bottlenecks in the kingdom, the Bahrain Gas Interchange is located between the Salmabad Interchange and Isa Town Gate Interchange, along the Sheikh Salman Highway.

The project includes the widening of the existing three-lane divided carriageway and a new grade-separated interchange, said a statement from Parsons.

As per the contract, Parsons will also provide feasibility studies, detailed design, and tender evaluation for the revamp.

“The project is one of our customer’s priorities within their roads revamp strategic plan. Once completed, the interchange will improve traffic flow and reduce commute time issues,” said Gary Adams, Parsons president for Middle East Africa (MEA) region.

Parsons has been working in the region for more than 60 years and has offices in the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.

Its portfolio of ongoing projects in the MEA region includes major highways, bridges, rail and transit, airports, ports, water infrastructure along with hospitals, public schools, universities, mosques, and other public buildings.-TradeArabia News Service
