Abu Dhabi carriageway work under way

ABU DHABI, October 17, 2016

Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) has started work on the Dh377-million ($103 million) Al Faya-Razeen-Al Quaa carriageway project, said a report.

The project involves construction of roundabouts, pavements, lay-bys, lighting system, stormwater network and stray animal fences, reported the state news agency Wam, citing a top official.

The work also includes the upgrade of the 140-km-road that connects Abu Dhabi city to the southern parts of the emirate such as Al Quaa and Al Wagan, said Hamad Al Murar, the acting CEO of Musanada.

On the two-part carriageway, Al Murar said the 88-km stretch of the first part will extend from Al Faya to Razeen at Mafrouda Interchange, while the 52-km second part will end at Al Quaa.

"The first part will be a two-lane dual carriageway extending for 15 km, while the remaining part will be one-lane dual carriageway," he added.
