New housing project launched in Ras Al Khaimah

ABU DHABI, November 26, 2016

The UAE government has announced plans to build more than 300 residential units on a 396,480-sq-m area in the northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah at an investment of Dh330 million ($90 million), said a report.

The foundation stone for the Bateen Al Samar housing project was laid by HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, reported state news agency Wam.

''In implementation of the leadership's directives, the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme is undertaking several mega housing projects across the emirates, including the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, to bring about social stability to Emirati families,'' said Sheikh Saud following the ground-breaking ceremony.

Sheikh Saud unveiled the memorial plaque in the presence of Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development, and chairman of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, members of the programme's board, and senior local officials, stated the report.

The project, situated off exit 119 on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, is expected to be finished by early 2019, it added.
