Kuwait's Equate inks waste management deal

KUWAIT, April 12, 2017

Kuwait-based Equate Petrochemical Company has awarded a three-year contract to Metals and Recycling Company (MRC), a leading eco industrial company, for providing a value-added waste management, logistics, recycling and marketing solution for its scrap, said a report.

As per the deal, MRC will collect all waste on-site, using 25 large containers placed at strategic locations at Equate’s industrial complex, then forward the contents regularly to specialised facilities for treatment, where they would be recycled into high standard raw materials suitable for manufacturing, and shipped to customers outside the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, according to Arab Times.

Over the three-year period of the agreement, an estimated 20,000 tonnes of scrap material will be processed, it added.
