Five key Portuguese companies from construction, manufacturing, interior design and smart cities sectors are set to exhibit at the upcoming Middle East Covering 2017, a dedicated event for the interior surface industry, in Dubai, UAE.

The event takes place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 22 to 25.

Non-oil trade between Portugal and UAE was estimated at Dh1.23 billion ($304.84 million) in 2015, but huge growth will see that rise to more than Dh2.0 billionn by the end of the year. That figure is seven times higher than the trade recorded between the two countries just 10 years ago.

Of the 200 international brands, showcasing more than 2,000 products at the exhibition, the five Portuguese companies will display a range of innovative products and services to exhibition goers.  The companies include Superveda, Summer Vanguard, Install Expert, Desimetal and Brick4you – all leaders in their field.

Superveda comes to Dubai for the first time at Middle East Covering, showcasing its unique offering for the security technologies sector.  “This is our first time at Middle East Covering, and in Dubai, which is a great opportunity for us to introduce our company and products to the region.  The UAE is an ever-growing market for us, and we want to increase our footprint here by building core business relationships with key local partners,” said Sergio Carvalho, general manager of Superveda.

Summer Vanguard, an interior design company focused on turning ordinary homes into smart homes, will have a presence at the stand by illustrating how it goes about developing smart, friendly homes in an ever-growing technological era.

“We consider Middle East Covering as a way in the UAE fast-growing market, an opportunity to show Portuguese expertise in regards to Design and Technology. A not so obvious combination with surprising results,” said Carlos Couto, CEO of Summer Vanguard.
