UAE-based Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) said its district cooling capacity has been on the rise and is poised to hit 1.34 million RT (refrigeration tonnes) by the end of this year.

One of the world’s largest district cooling services providers, Empower  provides its services to large-scale real estate developments including Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Dubai International Financial Centre, Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai Healthcare City and Dubai World trade Centre Residences.

The Emirati group is presently showcasing its latest eco-friendly district cooling technologies at the ongoing Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (Wetex) in Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the Minister of Finance and President of Dewa, visited the Empower stand along with Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the managing director and chief executive of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa).

Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO, Empower, who received Sheikh Hamdan at the Empower stand gave a brief presentation on the company’s latest projects and initiatives.

The vistors learnt the company’s latest range of district cooling solutions and its commitment towards increasing awareness on the importance of utilising energy-efficient, environmentally-friendly cooling products and services.

"We are truly humbled with the enormous response from the participants and visitors toured Empower stand at Wetex 2017," remarked Bin Shafar.

"The positive responses have inspired us to further our efforts in achieving sustainability, protecting the environment and serving as an example for other companies and organizations to follow," he stated.
