A top delegation of investors from Malaysia recently discussed Sharia’a compliant opportunities with Dubai Financial Market (DFM), the first Sharia’a compliant exchange worldwide.

DFM’s senior management briefed the visiting delegation of investors and fund managers on the leading role of DFM and its achievements over the last 10 years in addition to the investment opportunities offered by the exchange.

The 12 senior delegates representing 10 companies attended a presentation on DFM operations, development initiatives and future plans.

The discussions touched upon various topics related to the Asian and Middle Eastern financial markets, the DFM and the key role of financial services and asset management companies. The visit also included a tour of DFM’s trading floor.

Fahima Al Bastaki, senior vice president, head of Business Development Division, Dubai Financial Market, said: “DFM is delighted to welcome the delegation from Malaysia. We are always keen to develop close relationship with international investors, keep them updated with our latest developments and attract international investments to our market.”

“The visit was a great opportunity to update the Malaysian delegation on the sound economic fundamentals in Dubai and the role of the emirate as the leading hub in the Middle East.”

“The Malaysian investors have expressed their interest to visit DFM and have a closer look on DFM’s Sharia’a compliant investment opportunities which cater to their requirements,” she noted.

“Undoubtedly, this visit represents an ideal beginning to further promote DFM amongst Malaysian investors and we will spare no effort to strengthen this relationship and keep them update regarding developments and opportunities available on DFM”, Al Bastaki added.

This visit comes at the back of a regional tour for the Malaysian investors that will take them also to Doha and Istanbul. – TradeArabia News Service
