Manama, June 7, 2010

Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, the investment company of Bahrain, has launched mentoring programme with the University of Bahrain, in which it will provide undergraduate students with work experience.

Mumtalakat along with three of its portfolio companies, Gulf Air, Batelco and Alba, selected 10 students amongst a group of 25 Bahraini students who have achieved a GPA of 3.0 and above.

“I am delighted to see Mumtalakat and three of its portfolio companies participate in this mentoring program with the University of Bahrain,” said Talal Al Zain, CEO of Mumtalakat.

“We certainly feel that offering the possibility to these promising students to be trained and mentored in some of the country’s most reputable businesses will have a great impact in the future. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the results of the programme,” he added.

The University of Bahrain and Mumtalakat Mentoring Programme is an initiative originated by the Industrial Training Advisory Committee at the college of business administration in partnership with Mumtalakat.

A predetermined training plan will be prepared for each student by the participating organisation. Throughout the training period, each student will be guided by a mentor from the participating organisation to ensure that the student is receiving a high standard of training. – TradeArabia News Service
