LMRA collects $167.5m as fees

Manama, October 14, 2012

A total of BD63 million ($167.5 million) has been collected as fees last year by Bahrain’s Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), said chief executive officer Ausamah Al Absi.

The amount has been transferred equally into government and Tamkeen accounts, in accordance with the law.

Disclosure of financial data in full transparency reflects LMRA’s keenness to honour its legal obligations concerning all its projects and lays the foundation for a culture of openness in line with the Kingdom’s reform strides, Al Absi said.

Efforts are underway to keep the authority on its legal path as part of economic reforms initiated by the leadership, he said. – TradeArabia News Service
