Expats make 73pc of Bahrain workforce

The total number of workers in Bahrain has exceeded 700,000 this year, out of which 527,000 are expatriates (73 per cent), according to latest statistics released by the Central Informatics Organisation.

About 182,000 are Bahrainis including 60,000 women (31 per cent), reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

More than 3,200 workers are under 20 years of age, of whom 60 per cent are Bahrainis. Twenty per cent of these Bahrainis are women, the report added. – TradeArabia News Service
