Bahrain Scientific Complex opens

MANAMA, November 7, 2014

The Bahrain Scientific Complex - Mogadishu National University, in line with royal directives to extend a lifeline to drought-hit Somalia, was inaugurated by the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) secretary general Dr Mustafa Al Sayed.

The inauguration, held under the auspices of RCO chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, was attended by adviser to Somali President Dr Taher Ghili and Mogadishu deputy mayor Ismail Moalim Abdi Gure, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The Bahrain Scientific Complex, which includes Mogadishu National University, comprises colleges teaching disciplines like human and veterinary medicine, law, Sharia, political sciences, agriculture, and financial and administrative sciences.

Dr Al Sayed said the educational establishment has 17 classes, 400 students - 30 per cent female - 22 administrative employees, 80 PhD holders making up the training team and 90 employees from various ministries and government institutions being trained in financial sciences. - TradeArabia News Service
