Injaz Bahrain delivers record programmes for students

MANAMA, September 1, 2015

Injaz Bahrain, a non-profit organisation which aims to inspire and prepare young Bahrainis to succeed in a global economy, is set to build on the momentum of a record-breaking year 2014-15 academic year in terms of the number of programme delivered and students reached, as well as other performance indicators.

The organisation, which focuses on economic empowerment of the youth, received BD 57,300 ($150,893) worth of donations and in-kind support last year from its corporate partners.

It includes GPIC, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, Al-Salam Bank, Banagas, Bapco, Ithmaar Bank, Gulf Air, Khaleeji Commercial Bank, National Bank of Bahrain, and Microsoft.

The support helped Injaz Bahrain increase the number of total volunteers to 715 volunteers who were instrumental in reaching over 20,000 students in 149 primary, intermediate, and secondary government and private schools, as well as eight universities over the course of the academic calendar year.

Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, executive director of Injaz Bahrain, said: "As we approach Injaz Bahrain’s 10th anniversary celebration later this year, the organisation’s position has never been stronger.

"The support we receive from our supporters continues to underpin our continued success, and we look forward to another decade of preparing a new generation of young Bahrainis to thrive in a global economy and be active contributors to building the nation’s future.”

To maintain the momentum, the organisation has introduced special summer classes for the first time at Batelco Club, in addition to actively participating in various workshops at Youth City 2030, Royal Charity Organization, Gifted Students Center, Salman Cultural Center, Al-Eslah Society, and Quran-learning centers.
