ADSM prepares to nurture entrepreneurial leaders

ABU DHABI, October 19, 2015

The Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM), a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an educational institution dedicated to developing the UAE’s future entrepreneurial leaders, has reaffirmed its commitment to fully align its Signature Learning Experience (SLE), the learning model founded on technology and sustainability in a digitised and information-rich world, to nurture knowledgeable and innovative citizens.

The declaration was made recently prior the start of the third cohort of MBA students, said a statement.

Since its launch in 2013, ADSM has been incorporating its exclusive SLE model into the curriculum of its MBA programme to develop entrepreneurs capable of leading major global industries.

It has been qualifying and training students on how to leverage IT for business value and create corporate strategies that are aligned with the enterprise IT strategy.

ADSM’s SLE complements with the university’s full commitment to helping students better manage themselves and others, develop strong communication skills, and adopt an ethical and societal approach to decision making- all within the context of a global economic environment, said the statement.

The model also fosters innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership skills among students. ADSM combines Innovation and Entrepreneurship in theory and practice to provide world-class education delivered by distinguished educators. Moreover, partnerships with prominent institutions such as the London-based Imperial College Business School, one of the world’s top six universities, provide access to the best global educational practices, it said.

The school’s vision, mission and academic thrust are all fully aligned with both Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and the broader UAE Vision 2021.

ADSM’s flagship MBA programme will help in the human resource development aspects of these two agendas by using SLEs to guide students in planning and executing innovative business ideas and letting them undergo the entire business cycle from start to finish.

Mohamed Helal Al Muhairi, director general of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “The UAE needs creative and highly-motivated leaders if it wants to fulfill its dream of becoming one of the world’s top countries in the coming decade.

"ADSM offers a unique learning approach that balances theoretical and practical skills to adequately prepare the students of today to overcome the challenges of tomorrow as strategic leaders who can offer viable solutions to pressing regional and global issues. This is our contribution to the attainment of the country’s development goals.”

Professor Abdullah Abonamah, president, Abu Dhabi School of Management, added:  “At ADSM, we ensure that all our students have equal opportunities to excel personally and professionally and encourage them to pursue vital roles in local and national development. We achieve this by employing unique learning paradigms such as SLE and incorporating social responsibility into our programs, partnering with the world’s best institutions.

"We also follow the best academic practices and constantly emphasize the importance of innovation and creativity. The quality of our graduates and the enthusiasm of our ongoing cohorts reflect our great success in molding exceptional entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders.”

Sophia Korayim, director of the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Abu Dhabi School of Management, concluded: “ADSM uses SLE to mold its students into model citizens and future leaders. Our first cohort of MBA students reflects the success of SLE in developing lifelong learners and responsible individuals. We will continue to support human capital development with a special focus on women who have great potentials as productive members of society.” - TradeArabia News Service
