UK firm to showcase advanced hospital bed

Dubai, January 20, 2011

British based Sidhil, a leading manufacturer of hospital beds, will display an advanced acute hospital bed that combines practicality, infection control and advanced ergonomics at an upcoming medical trade fair in Dubai.

Arab Health, one of the world's largest healthcare tradeshows and congresses located in the Middle East, will be held from January 24 to 27 at Dubai International Conventional and Exhibition Centre.

The Independence Innov8 has been designed exclusively to meet the needs of hospital teams and patients around the world – making it the most comfortable, easy-to-use and practical hospital beds anywhere in the world, a statement said.

Every bed also has a special BioCote antimicrobial coating, which over an 18-hour period reduces levels of bacteria by up to 99.9 per cent; reducing the risk of cross infection and inhibiting the growth of micro-organisms to make cleaning easier.

Being electrically operated the Innov8 can also be adjusted to a low level for added patient safety and also has additional functionalities to adjust the backrests and knee breaks. Both patient handset and nurse control panels are provided, which have the ability to lock out specific functions via the nurse control panel if needed.

It is also ideal for manual handling and patient experience and offers complete flexibility, with regard to the bed specification, suitable for use in all hospital environments; from general wards to high dependency units, according to the statement.

“All our beds are manufactured in the UK to the highest quality standards before being sent out to hospitals around the world,” said Clive Siddall, sales and marketing director.

“We have been manufacturing for 110 years and during this time have invested heavily in the latest state-of-the-art machinery and techniques. With so many unique design features the Innov8 rewrites the rule books on hospital beds and we are looking forward to showcasing it at Arab 2011,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
