Abu Dhabi, December 1, 2013

Abu Dhabi-based Al Rahba Hospital organised a conference to create awareness on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of major women’s health issues prevalent in the UAE recently.

The fourth National Women’s Health Conference brought to light common health conditions and diseases among women, including breast cancer, diabetes, blood disorders, cardiovascular diseases and hypertension.

Women speakers from the UAE’s healthcare sector shared knowledge on disease prevention and improving women’s health and general well-being through a series of presentations and panel discussions.

Dr Nellie Boma, chief medical officer at Al Rahba Hospital and conference chairperson, said: “We believe that women working together in an enlightened culture can make a huge difference to the community."

"Every year, our aim has been to assemble an line up of renowned women speakers and top doctors who not only address topics critical to women’s health, but also help improve general health and well-being standards among women in the UAE,” she added.
