Amman, June 16, 2014

Jordan's Arab Potash Company, one of the world's largest producers of potash, in co-operation with Operation Smile, has funded the treatment of patients suffering from birth deformities.

The company provided JD30,000 ($42,217) to cover the cost of 50 surgical operations to treat birth deformities at Karak Government Hospital.

Presenting the grant, the general manager Brent Heimann, said Arab Potash was keen to invest in local community development by helping improve the quality of services provided to citizens in various priority sectors, particularly health.

The Jordanian company co-operates with Operation Smile every year to treat a number of birth deformities across the Kingdom, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
