Abu Dhabi partners with SAS for green solution

DUBAI, October 26, 2014

The Environment Agency of Abu Dhabi (EAD) has entered into a strategic collaboration with SAS, a global provider of business analytics software and services, to support the Emirate in realizing a sustainable environment more effectively.

The SAS Visual Analytics solution has allowed EAD to rapidly gain insights from the data deluge generated by a range of different sources in a much quicker timeframe.

“SAS Visual Analytics give EAD advanced analytical and visualization capabilities, hence gaining clearer insights into huge volumes of data faster,” said Shukri Dabaghi, general manager at SAS. “As a result, EAD will be able to make more informed regulatory decisions and guidelines in their drive for a maintaining a sustainable environment.”

Ahmed Baharoon, executive director, Environment Information, Science & Outreach Management (EISOM) said: “With the roll out of SAS across EAD, we hope that this advanced analytics and data visualization technology will help us discover new insights leading towards better understanding of the environment and achieving the targets of Abu Dhabi’s Environment Vision 2030.”

SAS Visual Analytics is an interactive data visualization solution that allows organizations to uncover hidden opportunities, identify key relationships and make more precise decisions promptly. SAS assisted EAD in not only quickly dissecting the data, but also presenting it in high pixel quality interactive reports through web and mobile devices.

SAS Visual Analytics’ out-of–the-box integration with ESRI mapping technology also meant that the data analytics and insight was now easy to plot and drill down on rich and accurate maps to give the geographical dimension for EAD.

Through the implementation of SAS Visual Analytics, EAD intends not just to centralize advanced routine reporting functions, but also to allow experts to create necessary and easily interpretable reports. SAS Visual Analytics provides deployment flexibility on-site using the hardware which caters to most organizational needs and cloud environments. – TradeArabia News Service
