Japan makes $71m payment to back Morocco's green plan

DUBAI, March 31, 2016

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has paid 720 million Moroccan dirhams ($71.8 million) backing Morocco's green plan programme, according to a report.

It is part of a 1.4 billion Moroccan dirhams loan agreement signed recently, said the Morocco World News report.

The loan, in collaboration with AfDB, was aimed at funding the second phase of the programme of support for Morocco's green plan (PAPMV2), as part of the Accelerated Co-financing Facility for Africa (ACFA).

It seeks to contribute to reinforce competitiveness of the agricultural sector for an inclusive and green economic growth through a more sustainable management of natural resources and also for an inclusive promotion of value chains in the field of agriculture.
