Liquid Glass unveils $760,000 powerboat at Dubai show

Dubai, December 16, 2009

Liquid Glass Powerboats, a leader in custom powerboat building, has unveiled its ’41 Luxury Cat’, a $760,000 41-foot powerboat, at the ‘Dubai International Motor Show 2009’.

This luxurious, recreational catamaran is capable of safely reaching top speeds near 200 km/h, and features modern hull and interior designs, superb performance, cutting-edge technologies and luxurious interior appointments more commonly found in yachts.

Liquid Glass is taking part in the show, which is open to general public from December 16 to 20, alongside Ultimate Motors, one of the leading distributors of exotic and luxury sports cars in the GCC and the exclusive master distributor for Liquid Glass Powerboats in the Middle East.

The ‘41 Luxury Cat’ measures 41 feet long, 10 feet, 6 inches in width and 6 feet, 1 inch in height, and features a state-of-the-art infusion-moulded hull and deck, both of which are produced from CNC-machined tooling, thereby making them stronger, lighter, longer lasting and defect-free.

It also packs twin 700hp ‘Mercury Racing’ engines with dry sump NXT1 drives, and dual 5-blade CNC-machined stainless steel propellers, a full-length stringer system, ‘Hi-Tec’ foam core, two 125-gallon fuel tanks and five bulkheads.

In addition, the custom-built catamaran has a high-gloss white Gelcoat base finish, one-of-a-kind custom paint, power seats and power footrests for optimal comfort and support, GPS navigation, a fully featured below-bow cabin with spectacular audio/video appointments, and cockpit seating for six passengers, and a lifetime hull warranty.

“The ‘41 Luxury Cat’ is a recreational powerboat that is quick and stable on the water but offers an exceptionally luxurious cockpit and cabin features, making it truly unique and a cut above the traditional designs,” said Randy Schultz, owner and chief designer, Liquid Glass Powerboats.

The ‘41 Luxury Cat’ currently on display at the show features twin Mercury 700 SCi engines, which feature copper-nickel alloy superchargers combined with a closed cooling system and mechanical pumps to provide sport boaters in the GCC with turn-key starting, protection from the region’s high salt content waters, and allow minimal maintenance, great overall running quality and incredibly smooth idle quality from a high horsepower big block.

Standard with this engine package is Mercury’s VesselView driver information display, which shows vital engine information such as RPMs, engine temperatures, trim positions, trip history logs, and engine efficiencies in real time across more than 20 screens.

In addition to the 700 SCi, the ‘41 Luxury Cat’ is available with four other Mercury Racing engine package options - 850 SCi, 1075 SCi, and 1200 SCi with Dry Sump Six drives; and the EU662 SCi with NXT1 SSM drives designed specifically for the European market.

“With the growing market for luxury boats in the Middle East, we are confident that this new vessel will meet significant interest from regional customers, not only for all its exceptional standard features but also for the outstanding customisation options available to discerning buyers,” concluded Nasser Al Hai, president, Ultimate Motors.-TradeArabia News Service
