CPL Jafza complex to be ready in 2011

Dubai, December 23, 2009

Centre Point Logistics (CPL), part of Lootah Group, said its multi-million dollar logistics complex project, under construction in Jafza South is on track and will be fully operational by the end of 2011.

This state-of-the-art logistics development, to be based on an 'open architecture' model is expected to be the region’s first zero carbon logistics facility and it will be fully compliant with Leed Platinum rating specifications.

The complex on completion will consist of three buildings, fifteen 7,500 sqm chambers (16 metres high) and 200,000 sq ft integrated office space. It will offer its clients a number of flexible warehousing operations ranging from leasing individual chambers both bare shell and fully equipped to full fledged 3PL services and supply chain management.

Centre Point Logistics (CPL) will, however, start functioning at the completion of its first phase in the last quarter of 2010.

“CPL is keen to provide a new alternative in the region for warehousing and logistics solutions for all types of businesses – we are not limiting our business model on this investment to just providing 3PL services,” said Brent Pearson, managing partner of Centre Point Logistics Group.

CPL Sensis’ supply chain management consultancy business offerings include supply chain re-engineering; web fulfillment and reporting; project management consulting, and providing fully trained onsite human resources support across all aspects of customers’ platform.

“We use our patented Supply Chain Snapshot to gain comprehensive overview of our customers business and associated logistics mechanism to review the entire chain and provide much more efficient process driven supply chain solutions. Our review process includes mapping of the actual time of our customer’s supply chain, the actual cost of logistics operations and cash flow map, which explains how working capital levels are impacted by their supply chain,” Brent Pearson said.

“CPL’s flexible warehousing operations also offer the perfect opportunity to non-asset based organisations and 3PL companies who do not have warehousing facilities in the Middle East markets to enter the region with a reduced financial risk platform. The clients will also benefit from our ability to draw economies of scale advantages in transportation, labour, IT systems and other services and our ability to offer tried and tested partners and sub-contractors.”

“Our one-of-its-kind value offerings has attracted overwhelming response from various global companies despite economic recession. We expect our strategically located facility in Jafza to be fully booked before the completion of the project,” said Pearson.-TradeArabia News Service
