Alba, ranked as one of the largest aluminium smelters in the world, has honoured members of the fifth wave of its SmartWay working groups.

The Alba SmartWay programme, started in early 2010 to improve performance, boost top-line growth, enhance efficiency, strengthen competitiveness and build-in a culture of continuous improvement, concluded its fifth wave last week.

The successful development of this programme marks the foundation of a new phase, in which Alba's employees, who took part in it, will serve as ambassadors in their departments and ensure that the proposed initiatives are well-implemented for greater efficiency.

"Alba SmartWay programme is another demonstration that Alba regards its employees as the company's most valuable assets," said chief executive Laurent Schmitt.
"Their proactive participation helped the company achieve major cost savings and increased efficiency,” Schmitt added.
