Gulf Cryo, a leading manufacturer of industrial, medical and specialty gases in the Middle East, has appointed Naji Skaf as its chief executive officer.

Having been with the company for the past eight years, Skaf is well placed to drive the company forward in terms of growth and market positioning, the company said.

Fundamental to his role will be directing all executive functions including strategy, business development, operations and support. Based at Gulf Cryo’s headquarters in Dubai, Skaf’s objectives are to continue to grow the company by reinforcing the brand and its subsidiaries across the GCC countries, signing long term supply agreements and expanding its footprint in to new territories, it said.

Prior to the new role, Skaf was the company's chief operating officer, during which time he implemented a number of major initiatives to streamline and restructure the business that were key to the company’s continued success through a long and turbulent global economic crisis.

Amer Huneidi, chairman of Gulf Cryo group, said: “I nominated Naji Skaf to the position of CEO for Gulf Cryo due to his achievements during his tenure and continued commitment to the group’s objectives. He was key to some of the major initiatives implemented over recent years and has successfully led operations through both boom and recession times. I wish Naji great success.”

Skaf holds a BSc degree from McGill University in Montreal and an MBA from the University of Houston. He will be based in Dubai with the corporate team at Gulf Cryo headquarters.
