Sharjah to host top plastics, printing shows

Sharjah, March 26, 2014

Three major trade shows in plastics, printing and packaging industries are set to get underway at Expo Centre Sharjah from April 7 to 10.

“This is quite unprecedented for the region... more than 250 exhibitors covering such a wide spectrum of industries critical to the region are being brought together under a single roof for the first time,” said Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah, referring to the second Plastivision Arabia, second Arabia Mold, inaugural Print Pack Arabia, and the fifth International Conference for Plastics Conversion (PlastCon 2014) that includes the Plastics Excellence Awards component.

“To top it, Expo Centre Sharjah is hosting the PlastCon plastic conversion conference for the first time, which will attract the who’s who of the regional plastics industry,” he added.

Organised jointly with the All India Plastics Manufacturers Association, the second Plastivision Arabia will offer a comprehensive sourcing point for the latest technology, equipment and products for the plastics industry.

It will also feature a ‘Business Opportunity Pavilion’, ‘Consultation Counters’, and a ‘Recruitment Pavilion’, offering complete manpower & training solutions, industry information and business leads to regional companies.

“Plastivision Arabia is also featuring a ‘Plastics shapes the world pavilion’, which will show how plastics are being used in several industries and the role plastics play in shaping today’s world,” said Jayesh Rambia, chairman of Plastivision Arabia and ex-president of All India Plastic Manufacturers Association.

The international trade fair for moldmaking, tooling, design and application development, the second Arabia Mold, is being held in association with DEMAT, the organizer of world-renowned EuroMold trade show. Visitors can expect to see the latest 3D solutions to moldmaking at the show.

The inaugural Print Pack Arabia will be jointly organised by Expo Centre Sharjah and the Indian Printing, Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers' Association (IPAMA), the apex body of printing, packaging and allied industries in India.

Print Pack Arabia will be a great opportunity for the regional printing and packaging industry to check out technological innovations, designs and products in the field, and exchange technological know-how and expertise.

The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association’s PlastCon will focus on the growth of plastics conversion both globally and in GCC countries, offering a great opportunity for trade representatives to gain insights into challenges and developments facing conversion today.

At PlastCon, leading executives and industry experts will present seminars on ‘opportunities with plastic pipes’, ‘product improvements through masterbatches’, ‘opportunities for GCC converters’, ‘printing technologies  – a quantum leap’, and ‘plastics in healthcare applications’. Besides, delegates can also listen to success stories from regional and international plastic converters.

The GPCA is also presenting the Plastics Excellence Awards 2014, recognising excellence in eight categories including best student, researcher, plastic product, process, energy saving program. – TradeArabia News Service
