Grundfos to strengthen ME presence

Dubai, April 21, 2014

Grundfos, a leading pump manufacturer in the world, plans to strengthen its presence in the Middle East as well as double revenues in UAE over the next five years.

Grundfos offers the widest range of intelligent pumping systems, which are designed to optimise reliability and efficiency in the harsh operating conditions common in the Middle East, said a statement.

The strong tradition for innovation has made Grundfos a technological leader. The company currently has over 18,000 employees worldwide and an annual production of over 16 million pump units, making it one of the leading pump manufacturers in the world. Globally, Grundfos is a leader with over 10 percent market share and a growing popularity amongst its key stakeholders, it said.

Henning Sandager, area managing director at Grundfos Middle East, said: “Grundfos is globally recognised for its pioneering spirit, technological advancements, commitment to quality, and as a company that puts ideas into successful actions. With a progressive growth pattern over the last few years, Grundfos continues to supply a high standard of service to its clients, and in acquiring prestigious contracts, such as the Ski Dubai and Atlantis the Palm. Riding on that success, we are confident of doubling our revenues in the Middle East market and setting an exemplary standard of service”.

Grundfos recently committed to reducing emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) by taking a leap towards a low carbon economy while sustaining long-term economic growth. Grundfos will apply a broad range of initiatives that will propel the company towards a more sustainable future. It will require innovative thinking and developing best engineering solutions to the World’s environmental problems, he said.

Henning continued: “Grundfos has a history of acting as a sustainable company and we are committed to building on it in the future by having an ambitious and action oriented approach to the climate challenge. Our first priority is to significantly reduce our CO2 emissions by optimizing our business process, followed by increasingly sourcing renewable energy. Grundfos will use sustainability as a driver for innovation throughout all business areas”.

“We focus on providing cutting-edge sustainable solutions to our customers and we wish to help make them more sustainable. Not just because it is the right thing to do, but also because it makes very good business sense. 10 per cent of the world’s electricity consumption comes from pumps. This number can be greatly reduced by replacing old pumping systems with new intelligent pumping systems, which in many cases can reduce electricity consumption by up to 40 per cent or even more. In many cases the impact of the electricity savings means that the investment in a new pumping system is paid back in a very short time”, said Henning.

At the recently held event “Demand More”, Grundfos brought top mechanical designers from all over the Middle East together at the Sheraton Hotel in Mall of the Emirates, Dubai to elaborate on best practices to demand more intelligence and efficiency from buildings.

This year, Grundfos celebrates its 25th anniversary in the UAE and the company has 250 skilled employees in the region.  - TradeArabia News Service
